Hamas Backs Obama

Don't get me wrong with this post, as I could really give a rat's ass about any one of our three corporation-backed, media-hyped, poll-skewed, front-running Presidential candidates -- if they are the best our country has to offer, then we're in far worse shape than any of us can imagine.

As of today, my vote will be for Ron Paul. The the only person running who can't be bought/manipulated by special interest groups (integrity) and a man who really 1) understands our enormous fiscal problems and 2) has the cajones to make a difference.

With that said, I was listening to Mike Savage on the way home from work today and heard this Hamas/Obama story... Couldn't believe my ears. Anyway, a few google clicks later and here it is for all of you.

NewsMax -- Hamas Endorses Obama

Democratic presidential hopeful Barack Obama has received an endorsement he might well wish he hadn’t — from the militant Palestinian group Hamas.

Ahmed Yousuf, Hamas’ top political adviser in the Gaza Strip, delivered his endorsement in an interview with WorldNetDaily and WABC Radio in New York.

“We like Mr. Obama, and we hope that he will win the elections,” Yousuf said.

“I do believe [Obama] is like John Kennedy, a great man with a great principle. And he has a vision to change America, to [put] it in a position to lead the world community, but not with humiliation and arrogance.”

The U.S. and Israel have been seeking to isolate Hamas, which seized control of Gaza in June and is classified by the State Department as a terrorist group.

Obama, as well as presidential candidates Hillary Clinton and John McCain, have all referred to Hamas as a “terrorist organization,” according to WorldNetDaily.

Asked about Obama’s criticism of former President Jimmy Carter’s meeting with Hamas during his Middle Eastern trip, Yousuf said:

“I understand American politics and this is the season for elections and everybody tries to sound like he’s a friend of Israel…

“I hope Mr. Obama and the Democrats will change the political discourse when one of them will be the president.”

Closing:

As if the Pastor Wright issue wasn't enough of a problem for Obama's campaign... It now certainly looks as if Hillary will get the Democratic nod.

Likewise, I don't think McCain can win it for the Republicans, so Clinton II will probably occupy the White House...

The wild-card: If our economy turns South rapidly before election (as I expect), the masses may finally wake up to reality and vote for a change -- Ron Paul

Regards

Randy,

I am firm with Ron Paul as well.

Nothing is what it seems. Newsmax, World Net Daily, Michael Savage are not worthy.

Hamas was originally funded by Israel as a counterbalance to the PLO. For good or bad, they are the elected leadership and we must deal with that fact. With that said this seems like a smear to cripple Obama.

Rev Wright has simply aid that our policies have produced blowback. Ron Paul has said this as well. As have the CIA and the 911 Commission. In addition, the good Rev has stated that AIDS was government created and deliberately injected into blacks. Now, this is crazy, as we all know the STD of choice for the government to deliberately infect blacks with is Syphilis.

bin-Laden backed Kerry as a quiet endorsement for George W. Bush. By keeping Bush as president, bin-Laden continued to recruit radical Islamists to further the conflict in Iraq and keep his fanatical group growing in numbers. So, one must consider endorsements with a grain of salt. Rev. John Hagee endorsed McCain and Hagee is a right wing fundamentalist theocrat who feels G-d is causing havoc in America for our actions and Christian beliefs. McCain embraces Hagee. Now, Obama gets the endorsement of Hamas. Could it be that they feel that some sort of settlement between Israel and the Palestinians might be possible with Obama as president? Might they feel that their only chance for a peaceful negotiation within the next 4 years is possible with Obama? I would like to hope so.--- JP

Newsmax and Savage are players. I would trust the Jerusalem Post a lot more than them.

Dailykos, the big Obama supporter, undoubtedly has come up with lots of similarly dubious stuff regarding Hillary and McCain.

It's optimistic that people could overcome the rigged system enough in your timeframe. Also, not many Americans support the Constitution and the ideals of the Founding Fathers these days.

Interesting that you think Clinton will win the nomination. Clintons are well known for having people killed ('committing suicide' is the Politically correct term). I dont see Obama doing that.

Lets hope youre wrong, Hamas endorsement aside.
