Google Adsense - YGBSM!

Many of you have probably seen the ads on my site, linked from Google - I've had them since starting this Blog. From what I understand, Google's search engines would scan the content of each Blog page and tailor their displayed ads to fit the content of my page and or topic. Well, it looks like I've become a threat to someone, because I received the following today:

Hello Randy,

While going through our records recently, we found that your AdSense account has posed a significant risk to our AdWords advertisers. Since keeping your account in our publisher network may financially damage our advertisers in the future, we've decided to disable your account.

Please understand that we consider this a necessary step to protect the interests of both our advertisers and our other AdSense publishers. We realize the inconvenience this may cause you, and we thank you in advance for your understanding and cooperation.

If you have any questions about your account or the actions we've taken, please do not reply to this email. You can find more information by visiting https://www.google.com/adsense/support/bin/answer.py?answer=57153&hl=en_US.

Sincerely,

The Google AdSense Team

Thoughts:

First they shut down my site and now they want to take away my meager Adsense revenue stream -- what a crock of S#!t.

Adsense even owed me ~ $170 bucks for a couple months of ad-clicks. However, based on information garnered at their link, it seems as if I won't even see this money:

" According to our Terms and Conditions, publishers disabled for invalid click activity may not receive any further payment. The earnings on your account will be properly returned to the affected advertisers."

I plan to fight this, as I've done nothing wrong, but it certainly is becoming quite tiresome trying to battle a system that has full control of all the major pieces.

Sometimes I wonder if it's all worth while...

Randy

Keep your blog up!! This is the one place on the net that actually tells the financial truth so don't let them pressure you down.

Also the paypal button is a great idea I would highly recommend putting one up.

I'm guessing that the money factor doesn't much matter to Randy. I sense it's "principle" related. Post up in spite of them Randy. As always thanks for sharing accurate information and including your well balanced thoughts.

When Google Owns You

Nick Saber isn’t happy now. Monday afternoon, after lunch, Nick came back from lunch to find out that he couldn’t get into his Gmail account. Further, he couldn’t get into anything that Google made (beside search) where his account credentials once worked. When attempting to log in, Nick got a single line message:

Sorry, your account has been disabled. [?]

maybe some of your readers have businesses that may benefit from advertising in your site directly. This could be a small paid link section or some banners that you manage.

....sorry to hear it Boss...you know, though, this is just the start of it. The Machine's not used to the sheeple pushing back....if the 'revenue stream' gets too challenged, hollar, & I'll send you some Ranch veggies, milk & eggs. Keep the faith.

Why don't you just buy:
http://www.economicrotblog.com/
and host it on gogdaddy or something?
(I checked economicrot.com, but you're getting enough hits that it's already been purchased as a spec.)

Put up a last post here linking to the new URL, then say screw google.

You're looking at less then $100 per year out of pocket with the hitcount you're getting.
(Drawing inference that the money doesn't matter at the small revenue amount you elude to.

Or even cheaper still would be to host your own domain name sever out of your home (or office) assuming a static IP from your ISP* (*your ISP may have regulations against serving your own domains off their assigned IP depending on your account type)

Good luck,
Sid

I've never cared for Google myself. A couple of clowns who are full of themselves. Based upon what I think is coming for this country and planet the WWW will be the last thing we are concerned about.

Randy, I do enjoy your site Sir......

Hey Randy,

You are a breath of fresh air to many, and we will respond to your needs accordingly. I, myself am in the middle of nowhere and read you every day for updates. The library is the only place to see your videos and treck out of the woods, w/computer, sometimes in pouring rains to view them. Please continue to keep us informed. May these comments give you strength to continue your efforts.!!

Randy
I'm a regular reader of your site although i don't post much. I'm also in Vegas so i appreciate all the Vegas posts you've made and all your predictions have been right on the money. I suggest you get your own site. The next time you get locked out you might not be able to get back in.

btw, i bought some gold and silver recently through your link (golddealer.com). You should ask them for referral fees.

I read your blog every single day. You are one of very few candles in a very dark night. Please don't stop writing. Please.

Some of us in the IT world have considered Google to be an NSA front from the get-go. Of course, a large percentage of the rest of that world are no better. Oracle was started by 5 CIA guys with CIA money on something called "Project Oracle".

In any case, as the economic screws get tightened over the next few years, one can also expect a similar process to the once-free Internet.

ECONOMICROT is a daily visit for me. I would miss this blog a lot if you stopped posting. Don't let them get to you. Paypal and Sid's ideas are the wtg I think. Hang in there Randy.

Did they give any reason for dropping you from the ad program? I haven't seen your site before and know nothing about it. It does seem odd, or at least very rude, that the letter doesn't explain why they did this. Still, reading the letter made me think of a possibile legitimate reason for dropping you from the ad program. Something you may not even be aware of.

There's a website attack going around that uses SQL injection to replace text fields in a database, the result being that the click-through ads are all changed. A bunch of the ads are fake to hide the real ads and it's those few ads that give the financial benefit to keep this hack around and very active.

I learned about this just the other day when a coworker's web site got hacked. Thought it was worth passing on, since it's a possibility.

Sorry Randy. I'm probably next, huh?
